On agricultre, China welcomes ideas or proposals that could help building an agricultural trading system following the objectives of the Agreement on Agriculture, including safeguarding farmers’ livelihoods and food security, and advancing sustainable and inclusive agricultural development. We stand ready to work with members in a open-minded manner to explore pathways to break the current impasse.

On fisheries subsidy, China appreciates the efforts of the NGR Chair in advancing the negotiations, particularly through the recent Fish Week. As for the way forward, China supports discussion on targeted refinements and adjustments to document 285.

In regard to the guiding question, China views the negotiating work and WTO reform are both essential, and to some extent, they are also related to each other. As to the concerns raised by some Members regarding the scheduling of reform meetings, we believe the preparation and organization of the meetings are equally important.
