On 28th September 2022, the Investment Facilitation for Development (IFD) Working Session, organized by the Permanent Mission of China to the WTO and hosted by the Friends of Investment Facilitation for Development (FIFD), was successfully held at WTO Public Forum 2022 in Geneva. The Working Session was moderated by Ambassador Sofia Boza, Permanent Representative of Chile to the WTO and co-Coordinator of the WTO Structured Discussions on Investment Facilitation for Development. Ambassador Li Chenggang, Permanent Representative of China to the WTO, Ambassador Jung Sung Park, Deputy Representative of the Republic of Korea and co-Coordinator of the WTO Structured Discussions on Investment Facilitation for Development, Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Director of Division of Market Development at the International Trade Centre and Mr. Matthew Stephenson, Head of Investment Policy and Practice at the World Economic Forum shared their views as panelists on "WTO Agreement on Investment Facilitation for Development: Multilateral Action to Boost Resilient and Inclusive Economic Recovery" and the way forward of the IFD negotiations.
More than 80 officials and scholars attended the meeting in person.
